Spacestor were invited to work on a pioneering new industrial physics research centre commissioned by the University of Cambridge. The Maxwell Centre will expand the university’s renowned Cavendish Laboratory and serve as a unique hub to promote the free-flow of ideas in a bid to solve some of the industrial world’s most tricky problems.

The Maxwell Centre needed storage space. Working closely with London architects, BDP, we provided this with our Spacestor Storagewall. Achieving a stunning bespoke look with a glossy, spray-lacquered finish, this was complemented by a back-painted glass splash-back and a Corian worktop, for a smooth and seamless look.

A host of appliances were integrated into the units including fridges and Fisher & Paykel dish drawers, plus the innovative touch of the Scanomat TopBrewer coffee machine – cleverly controlled by your smartphone.

The result was a fully bespoke and modern workspace, combining innovation, collaboration, form and function to help tomorrow’s scientists come up with that vital ‘eureka’ moment.
