Mobile operators Three have recently moved into their new premises on Entrétorget 5, across from the Glove arena in Stockholm’s Söderstaden.

Studio Stockholm were the strategic advisors through the project and when designing the workspace concluded that Three, with its growth rate, would require about 15,000 square metres of its own optimised building. Also, a key factor whilst identifying and understanding the needs of typical Three employees was to be able to offer them the very best work environment fully suited to their requirements, regardless of their professional role and personality. A process which was essential to deliver the ultimate solution for both the company and its employees. 

The design concept has been based on characteristics that are typical for those working at Three. Three employees are lively, forward-looking, young, sporty and healthy, with international diversity. These traits have been translated into a design language to achieve the right décor.

The interior design concept is characterised by digital solutions, a robust choice of materials such as concrete flooring, solid wood and galvanised steel, as well as unexpected details like multi-coloured climbing ropes and LED cables. The raspberry red staircase was part of the concept early on, as the lifeblood that connects every part in this long and narrow 14 storey-high building.

Throughout the whole process, Studio Stockholm have worked very closely with Three’s steering committee since every choice made has been strategically important. The process has not “only” been about a new office, but also about a strategic move for the brand and the company both geographically, and in terms of identity. Three is a changing organisation that is constantly expanding, and Studio Stockholm’s assignment was, among other things, about building in an opportunity for flexibility.
