After they outgrew their old serviced office space, African oil exploration and production company Assala Energy, working alongside Peldon Rose, decided they wanted to find their own space and build themselves a perfect London headquarters; so they moved into the Metro Building in Hammersmith.

“‘Assala’ is a local term from Gabon given to smaller, individual elephants that are known for their vitality and tenacious character,” explain Peldon Rose architects, who were hired to design these new premises. “This energy and vitality is reflected in the office design.” In keeping with interior design trends, and also with Assala Energy’s core business, Peldon Rose decided to build the space around an Industrial Design aesthetic: ceilings and pipelines were left exposed, and New York loft-style Crittall Windows were added in. We were pleased to be asked to install our Palisades Grid system in a particularly innovative way; thin Palisades Grid towers placed next to structural columns to make very subtle zone dividers for the open-plan office.
