As their business grew, SmartSearch—the UK’s leading online provider of anti-money laundering services—realized they’d outgrown their premises in Guiseley, Yorkshire. After some looking, they found a large new home in the market town of Ilkley and had office specialists Opus 4 make them the workplace of their dreams: complete with a large “third space” (a social, relaxing space) with a gaming area and a gymnasium, and a variety of agile, collaborative working spaces. They wanted to include some eclectic, eye-catching design features, so we were pleased to install a suite of Railway Carriage pods for them to work, meet and chat inside of.
As they were moving town, and making a lot of new hires, it was vital for SmartSearch that their new premises helped them to attract and retain talent. So did it work? “We had a 100% staff retention rate when we relocated to the new space,” says Managing Director Martin Cheek proudly. “We surveyed everyone who made the move and recorded a 100% happiness rating too.
