Workspace of the Week - Twitter Offices, Toronto
Twitter's stunning new Toronto offices embody the key attributes of the social networking company's mission to facilitate global connection.

ACDO have recently completed the office design for global social networking company Twitter in Toronto, Canada.

The space has been designed to reflect Twitter's key attributes and ACDO worked closely with the team to embody these concepts throughout: bold, electric with a focus on creating connections amongst employees and collaborators.

For the design of these offices, it was important that Canadian-based makers, artists and furniture designers were connected in order to bring a local element into the project, thus aligning with Twitter's philosophy in all its global offices.

The design firm worked with renowned artist studio Moss and Lam, developing a stunning custom wood mural and paintings in the entrance reception area. The final result has created a major impression within the space that incorporates Toronto landmarks, as well as natural elements and framed works to visually portray collaboration.

Wood, plantings and natural light have been incorporated throughout the space, introducing a biophilic element to promote wellbeing. Preserved plants and reindeer moss were specified rather than real greenery due to the fact certain areas in the space lacked natural sunlight.

The entire space has been designed to promote community engagement and socialisation, which is an important aspect to wellness and wellbieng. The result is natural wood elements, artworks and greenery being brought into all areas, providing a human centred space with a homelike feel.
