Workspace of the Week - Siam Commercial Bank Contact Centre, Bangkok
MADA Design Factory have recently completed the design for Siam Commercial Bank's contact centre in Bangkok, Thailand. An innovative office environment with several unique design features.

The Siam Commercial Bank in Thailand occupies two floors of the Bhiraj Tower in Bangkok and workspace designers MADA Design Factory have taken advantage of this to connect the two floors by a large tree, creating a relaxing atmosphere for the workspace.

SCB’s statement “the most admired bank” was an important concept in the design of their offices. SCB wanted to transform their workplace into an area where people love to work and so in turn, pass these positive vibes on to their customers.

The design concept is “urban tech” as the business’s nature is all about technology, connection and the community. So, the design was integrated by using urban elements, for example street seating, a large tree and road markings. Furthermore, the overall look and feel for SCB contact centre incorporated rustic materials, for example, a concrete vinyl floor, exposed ceilings, and the use of wood and metal features.

The design also reflected the SCB corporate culture, visuals and identity, bringing together the company colours in a creative, fun way throughout the office space, fitness areas, café and outdoor relaxation.

The working space was divided without using walls to maximise the natural lighting through the space. Exposed ductwork also added interest and in addition to the overall interior design, MADA Design Factory team used LED pendant and tube lighting with a suspended “Urban Tech” sign over the breakout area. The simple and flexible furniture as a series of solid tables, chairs, sofa, stool and street seating feature encourage staff to use the space as a collaboration network.
