This new corporate high-rise center, located at business hub, The Star, in Frisco, brings a state-of-the-art facility which is people-centric in every way.

With net-zero carbon emissions and a big focus on designing and building sustainably from the beginning of this project, it is now targeting achieving LEED Platinum for Interior Design & Construction: Commercial Interiors. This has been achieved through Corgan's meticulous attention to detail paid in the selection of every element throughout this large 15-story project, which includes a number of Spacestor’s products.

Spacestor’s Residence Connect were chosen, a from-the-ground-up accessible video-conferencing pod, which allow all users to have the Best Video Call Experience possible. Features such as the independently height-adjustable desks and screens allow each user to have the optimum ergonomic space, and user-adjustable ventilation and lighting also contribute to the users’ comfort and wellbeing. These features also contribute towards the LEED scheme, in supporting the users of the space as well as the energy efficiency. The careful construction and material composition of the product also allows points within the scheme to be reached which relate to materials, sourcing, and supporting waste reduction with the modular design, which can be relocated.

Our Portals Open products were also specified on this project, which contribute credits in similar areas, successfully complying with LEED’s thresholds for VOC content, as well as having prefabricated components which reduce waste. These open pods provide a space to work that is not cut off from the buzz of the office, but gives a focused area where employees can touch down for getting away from distractions, so they can have autonomy in the space they work in.

This autonomy is fostered in the different work-style zones on each floor, with a mix of collaboration workstations, sized to balance acoustics, split up by quiet, more private independent desks that have features to help focused working such as lower light levels and higher acoustic protection. This range of agile workspaces was collaborated on and considered by all departments, to ensure that everything was thought of, and demonstrating again how this project was focused ultimately on the people that use it, so that they can work at an optimum.

Another product Spacestor was pleased to bring to the project was our Railway Carriage, as a modular and relocatable plug-and-play pod, which offers a semi-enclosed meeting or collaboration space for a small group. This allows groups to meet or work together without taking up the space of a meeting room, so space can be used more efficiently, and also at less cost.

The new corporate hub in Frisco, TX, has been designed to boost productivity and employee wellbeing, with amenities which make this a destination workplace. This ranges from the rooftop beehives on the parking garages, supporting local and sustainable biodiversity, to the medical clinic and pharmacy, ensuring all employees are amply cared for. Other spaces which encourage and enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of employees are the outdoor amphitheater, sports simulator, electronic gaming area, shuffleboard, billiards, pickle ball, putting green, full fitness space, balconies on each level, outdoor meeting spaces and a large-scale dining area, amongst others.

Consideration has also been given to natural light and biophilia, enhancing the sense of well-being throughout the space. Large windows provide views over the city, while biophilic woods and natural surfaces contribute to the ‘Texas Trails’ theme that underpins the scheme.

The theme is present throughout the different zones, with the top floors reflecting the bright desert sunsets, with deep blues, purples and oranges, then the bold blues and browns inspired by the waterfalls and caverns of the Hill Country, while the lower floors evoke the swamps and piney woods of the lowlands, with muted earthy tones. This inspirational and evolving palette brings interest and character to a large corporate project, and demonstrates inherently how every detail has been considered and planned for.
