DTRE
A magnet for their employees and a welcoming atmosphere for clients
Founded in 2010, DTRE quickly became one of London’s most trusted property advisors, setting themselves apart in a highly competitive market. Known for their unique blend of expert market insight and a culture rooted in research and innovation, they’ve built a reputation for excellence. The time had come for DTRE to expand, and their new 11,000 sq ft office in Mayfair wasn’t just about space—it was about building an environment as forward-thinking as they are.
But how do you create a space that matches the stature of a prestigious advisory firm, supports employee wellbeing, and impresses high-profile clients—all while keeping sustainability front and center?
DTRE’s growth demanded a workspace that could keep pace with their expanding team and evolving business operations. No longer fit for purpose, their previous home was too small, and they needed an upgrade—something that reflected the progressive values of the company. The space had to be a magnet for their employees, with welcoming atmosphere for clients, and above all, it had to be flexible enough to adapt to the changing workplace scene, anticipating shifts in way we work and where we work.
DTRE turned to K2 Space to bring their vision to life. With a strong relationship already in place, K2 was well-equipped to meet the challenge. The brief was clear: create a forward-thinking, sustainable workspace that would provide and foster productivity for all users, while still feeling luxurious and comfortable. Flexibility, inclusivity, and wellbeing were key themes, with a strong demand for material and operational sustainability to be at the core of planning, construction and the end result.
K2 Space set the tone for a versatile, responsive office design with distinct zones to meet the varied needs and activities of DTRE’s workforce and visiting clients. The office features an auditorium, a client entertainment area, and multiple touch-down spaces, making the entire office a blend of focus, relaxation, and social zones.
Spacestor worked with K2 and their client to select Palisades II as a versatile divider, transforming the open-plan area into separate zones without the need to build permanent walls. These modular, moveable dividers not only helped segment the space for different activities but also offered DTRE the future flexibility to reconfigure the office as their team continued to grow.
Biophilic design played a significant role in the overall aesthetic, with greenery woven throughout the space to create a calm and welcoming atmosphere, further boosting the wellness factor for users.
The results were nothing short of remarkable. DTRE’s new office not only boasts a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ accreditation, reflecting the company’s commitment to sustainability, but also creates a space where employees actually want to be. The flexibility of Spacestor’s Palisades II helps future-proof the office, while biophilic elements, a Peloton gym studio, and a stylish barista reception enhances the attraction and experience of employees, while creating a vibrant environment for clients.
