From their earliest days, Kinecta credit union's mission was to be 'the preferred and most trusted life-long financial partner in the communities we serve'. And today, they simply call that Banking Done Different. And this really is banking done different, with their new CA branch on the Pacific Coast Highway recently opening to reveal a high-tech and high-touch experience for colleagues and clients alike. Today, Kinecta is America's 35th largest credit union, and their 800+ employees serve thousands of clients, from coast-to-coast.

For one of their newest branches located out of Torrance CA, they called on their long-time workplace design partners, Worksmart. As a leading integrative design consultancy in California, they help companies to realize their visions and make their mark in this ever-evolving world. They understand that the traditional workplace design model doesn't work for every business and using their unique strategy of 'define, design, deliver' they create exceptional spaces that go beyond the physical environment.

Rather than turning to traditional-looking meeting rooms, Worksmart asked us to provide a custom variant of our Railway Carriage booths. Providing a semi-private and enclosed space, the Railway Carriages provide a space efficient solution to allow Kinecta to meet and collaborate with their clients. Removing the seating on one side of the booths allows the Kinecta employees, who are often sitting for long periods of time, to wheel in an ergonomic task chair, whilst their clients can be seated in comfort on the other side on the Railway Carriage bench. Inclusion of the monitor & arm as well as printer and wire management with grommets at the back, ensures all the necessary tech is there to support the successful client meetings.

Not only do the booths provide space efficient meeting spaces for the here and now at Kinecta's current location, but should they need to move around the floorplate in this space, or move to a new location, the booths can be dismantled and relocated to their new environment. This provides a sustainable solution that has built-in flexibility and saves materials from going to landfill as well as being more cost effective for Kinecta.
