Originally from Japan, international pharmaceutical giant Otsuka now has headquarters all around the world, each of which retain the company’s commitment to an ethical, people-orientated approach to business. Office specialists Blue Jelly originally fitted out their British headquarters in Windsor back in 2015, but this year Otsuka decided they wanted to update it with an all-day meeting hub featuring the latest technologies and modern design flourishes. The brief for this meeting hub was simple: it should be optimised for round-the-clock use, it should be high-tech, and its design should create a real “wow” factor.

In response, Blue Jelly installed some huge 85” smart screens, an electrical folding wall, a virtual skylight that recreates different skies from different territories and below those – courtesy of Spacestor – a pair of recessed Railway Carriage meeting pods upholstered with grey seating and blue-sky ceilings. Furthermore, in a nod to the company’s Japanese heritage, we decorated the back wall of each Carriage with a print of painted cherry blossoms. Look to your left and you’re admiring virtual skies; look to your right and you’ll find yourself in a “Hanami” cherry blossom viewing festival, right there in Windsor.
