Working alongside fit-out specialist Morgan Lovell, the project focused on shaping a workplace that could balance collaboration, focus and operational connection between the office and warehouse teams. The brief called for a flexible environment that encouraged interaction and choice in how people work, while still providing the privacy needed for focused tasks and confidential conversations.

To support this, a series of acoustic spaces from Spacestor’s Portals range were introduced throughout the office. Portals Quiet pods provide dedicated areas for individual focus work away from the open-plan setting, giving staff the ability to concentrate without distraction. Portals Connect offers a protected environment for video calls and virtual meetings, ensuring conversations remain clear and uninterrupted even within a busy workplace. For small group discussions, Portals Huddle creates an enclosed space for quick team meetings and collaboration. Importantly for the team here at RH Amar, all of the Portals pods are step-free, for maximised inclusivity. Portals Connect's adjustable desk and monitor system give an equal experience to everyone.

One of the most distinctive elements of the workspace is the visual connection between the office and warehouse. Large internal windows allow views between the two environments, reinforcing the relationship between the operational and administrative sides of the business. The result is a workplace that feels open and connected, helping colleagues remain aware of the wider activity of the company while still benefiting from a focused office environment.
