Spaces Hung Sheng coworking offices are situated in the Zhongshan District, in a well connected location. To make full use of this, D&P Associates were asked to turn the 2413 sqm space into Taipei's number one choice of coworking office.
Those visiting Spaces Hung Sheng are typically freelancers, start-ups, and small businesses who need a place that meets their creative needs. Therefore, a contemporary industrial design was chosen, with several light-filled, flexible open areas.
The goal was to create a home like office, but away from home. A minimalistic interior with a warm colour palette and wood, "the material that makes people happy," has been used as a prominent feature throughout the design. The brief was to create as many open plan areas as possible and consequently, spaces are divided by wooden bookcases which also serve as storage and display areas.
The soft seating room features soothing bamboo pendant lighting - the slight Asian touch is designed to help tone down stress and anxiety at work. Rounded corners and clean cut edges in the furniture make for an inviting, simple and clean look.
Likened to an oasis in the middle of a desert, the design also includes a bar counter which has been made from local materials, providing refreshment for visitors to the space. A elegant staircase has also been used to connect the business club to the reserved working space on the 1st floor. All this enables the visitors to Space Hung Sheng to experience a cosy and homelike, yet professional working space.
