Nuffield Foundation researches and works towards great social advancements in education, welfare, and justice. It partnered with Peldon Rose to design and build an advancement in their workplace experience, the product, a softly industrial and uniquely flexible space. The challenge for Peldon Rose was to design an office which could function as multiple platforms -from seminars and research talks to focused spaces and private meetings. In concentrating on the targeted adaptability of the space, using both new and existing materials and considering employee needs, the workplace is a modern and highly functional environment.

The reception is a warmly industrial opening with a breakout and café space. Exposed concrete ceilings, oak flooring, and organic features, create a resi-mercial, light vibe. HotLockers in soft pastels and lime green, offer a storage solution for employees, somewhere to put the belongings which would have normally inhabited a permanent desk. Additional Storagewall units were provided, including a TV alcove allowing for the integration of tech for a more modern and cutting-edge employee experience.

Suspended acoustic panels and characterful wall features add a homely interest to the space, with sleek tiles and a grey color palette. The café area offers a valued amenity, as well as an opportunity for chance encounters and idea networking. The space features folding internal walls for zone division and creation, allowing bigger spaces to be made for hosting larger scale events.
