Sumitomo Corporation Europe, a global leader in integrated trading and providing investment solutions, wanted a state-of-the-art headquarters in their building at Vintners Place, and chose DMG Workplace as their Design & Build Partner to achieve this. The area that they have curated is truly inspirational, with a free flow through the office on the 4th floor of the building, all built around a large atrium. The project was also SKA Certified as a Design & Build scheme, and was completed in an ambitious 30-week programme, a remarkable achievement.

A broad range of workspaces includes 370 desks, with 20 individual booths for focused work and many types of collaboration area, whether it be in an open space with many other collaboration tables, or larger pods for working together on projects that require elimination of distractions. Spacestor’s products fitted perfectly into this type of adaptable work environment, with Bleachers providing a modular and reconfigurable breakout or group space.

Residence Connect, provides a tailored solution for video calls that require concentration or a confidential spot, with some as accessible options featuring a push-button doorway, step-free access, and an independently adjustable desk and monitor. This allows an equitable user experience for people of all abilities, helping Sumitomo Corporation Europe to have an inclusive workplace.

Portals Quiet, were selected in varying colours to fit in with different areas, harmonizing flawlessly with the aesthetic of this workplace, where there is a lot of glass, and black detailing, such as on the door handles and frames. These booths not only offer a functional solution for focused, private work but also demonstrate how our products can be tailored to align with a company's identity. By integrating in a balanced way to thedesign scheme, they enhance the visual character of the space while providing practical benefits, reflecting the unique culture and style of the organization.

Verandas Spacestor’s reconfigurable and adaptable meeting room system, is an ideal product for a space like this, where a variety of working spaces will be used in one area, with pods, meeting points and the option for touching down in an open area for a shorter space of time, all made out of the same pieces. For this project, one of the accessories chosen was a curtain, on an otherwise open booth – this afford privacy for 1-2-1 catchups. In conjunction with this, and sharing walls, are also single person booths for more concentrated work, and an enclosed meeting room for discussions which require more privacy.

Residence Max was strategically placed to seamlessly blend with the overall design, ensuring employees can maintain focus while still allowing natural light to flow through, creating an environment that fosters both productivity and well-being.
Spacestor also provided Sumitomo Corporation Europe with Forte Storage and HotLockers, offering secure personal storage solutions designed for all employees. These lockers are particularly beneficial for employees who commute, ensuring a reliable and secure place to store personal belongings during work hours.

This premium workspace is finished in a way that is elegant and precise, with marble flooring throughout corridors, deliberately shaped sweeps, fluted glass, luxury furnishings, and sharp, contrasting details in black. The overall feel of the space is refined and sophisticated, with every new area having its own unique moment. The carefully considered design elements, including the flowing contours and seamless transitions between materials, create a sense of movement and fluidity, guiding occupants effortlessly through the space and reinforcing a dynamic yet harmonious workspace environment.

The calming atmosphere is emphasized through the use of lighting, which has been meticulously crafted to enhance the feel of the space. Many features have been used, such as cove curved strips, picture lighting over golden plaques, shaped suspended fittings and blue droplights. Leading down to a wellbeing room is a statement corridor with carefully positioned blue lighting, outlining the rounded walls and setting the tone for the haven. Once in there, one is met with a starry sky ceiling, crafted using miniature spotlights in the ceiling.

This same room embodies the culture of care for their people, with organic curved and cushioned nooks built into the wall, relaxed seating with footstools and warm neutral colours and textures. Allowing people to break away for a minutes from the fast-paced work environment - the space provides a sanctuary for relaxation and recharging. These thoughtful design elements encourage moments of mindfulness, fostering both mental well-being and productivity in the modern workplace.
DMG Workplace have brought together the flexibility of the modern workplace with functionality, and a timeless whilst minimalistic aesthetic, to provide a modern and prestigious workspace.
